The Building Bridges Coalition of Staten Island is a non-profit corporation, founded in 2003 whose purpose is to promote a dialogue amongst the various faith organizations on Staten Island. Our Organization has a board consisting of lay people and clergy. We sponsor four events each year:
| March / April | An Interfaith Seder |
| August | Respecting Differences Program (a walk to two or three different houses of worship with events planned at each location |
| November | An Interfaith Celebration of Thanksgiving |
|
December |
The Unity Project (open to all Staten Island school children in grades 6 - 12) The unity project has a specific theme and the children can submit an essay, poem, video, or poster. New for the 2010 Unity Project: BBCSI has partnered with the Temple of Understanding (TOU) a United Nations NGO (non-governmental organization) for high school students completing TOU's Interfaith Dialogue and Education Action (IDEA) training. |
The Building Bridges Coalition collects no dues and has no formal membership. Proceeds from the Interfaith Seder and contributions from individuals fund our programs.
